Aug 22 Our Engagement Story

We have some exciting information to share with you all! We got engaged! I am so excited to share the story with you all about how it happened! And update you about why I have been M.I.A. lately!

So the engagement story begins at the beginning of this year when both my family and Jacob's family began planning our summer trips. Jacob's family had decided to go Hawaii and I stayed home to continue working and keep the business running. My family decided to go with our usual road trip up to Idaho but it was going to be twice as long as Jacob's trip and I wasn't too happy about that. I had already been away from him for one week and didn't want to go two more not seeing him, but I still was excited to go and have a good time. So before the trip, I kept telling Jacob how much I just wish he could come with us on the trip and how I just want to show him my favorite places (little did I know he was actually going to come), and he had to keep a straight face the whole time.

So, one week into the trip (half-way through because our trip was going to be two weeks long) I don't expect anything to happen. We have a normal day doing things we typically do at my grandmas house going blueberry picking and hanging out at the lake. Meanwhile, Jacob is texting me this whole time and we even have location tracking for each other (I know its weird but its super helpful sometimes haha) and I could see the he was still at his house, but he was really on a plane flying into town!

So we get back from the lake and my aunt tells me there is this wedding planner who wants to meet me to talk about doing some wedding films for her and she can meet me in an hour so dress in something nice. So I get all changed and look more presettable than I did at the beach and head downstairs to go. During this time, Jacob is hiding from me in the barn waiting for the signal to get into position. So he gets into position on this cute bench on my grandmas huge property and I come sit outside facing away from him. So to get me to turn around, my aunt shouts "Look a deer!" do I turn around and see him sitting on the bench with the mist gigantic bouquet of roses! I was in so much shock that he was even in Idaho! So I ran down there to see him and he proposed! The ring is everything I wanted and pictured and he couldn't have planned a better proposal (with some help from my sisters of course).

I was completely shocked and had no idea that he was coming at all! My whole family was crying and laughing and everyone was so happy! Jacob made reservations for us to go to dinner at this restaurant on the lake and it was so gorgeous and special. It was so weird that we are finally engaged!
