DIY Modern Planter
This DIY planter has been on my Pinterest board for so long and I am so happy I finally did it! And by me I mean Jacob did it because you need some serious wood tools for this project, so definitely a warning before you start this project that is a two person job. But once it is done is the cutest office accessory! And I have to give credit to the amazing Lovely Indeed blog for this cute idea!
Materials:
- 1" dowel
- 3/4" dowel
- 1/4' dowel
- wood glue
- clamp
- drill with 3/4" drill bit and 1/4" bit
- table saw
- miter saw
How To:
- Cut your dowels to the length you want them to be. The 1" dowels will be the vertical bars and the 3/4" dowels will be the horizontal bars under your pot.
- Measure and mark where you want the pot to sit on the bars and drill a 3/4" hole on each of the vertical bars. Within this hole, make another 1/4" hole inside these.
- Drill a 1/4" hole on the ends of both horizontal bars.
- Measure and mark the center of the horizontal cross bars and use the table saw to make a notch halfway through the dowel so they fit inside each other.
- Cut the 1/4" dowels into small pegs to place inside the 1/4" holes you made.
- Place glue in the holes and in the crossbar, insert the pegs and connect to two bars.
- Pot your plant, let the glue dry, and place your plant inside!
