school supply essentials

one of the most exciting things of getting your class schedules and getting up early again, are the fun new things you buy for the school year! there is something about the smell of fresh pencil lead and sharpies that makes it feel like august and fall again. when I was younger I loved putting my name in sharpie on all my bags and boxes and scissors. as the years go by it certainly gets less and less exciting for the new school year to role around.

this year will be my first year as a college student and you could say I have no idea what to expect. just the other day I walked around my new campus to find my classes and get a feel for the place and it was so surreal. I remember Hannah Montana going off to college and thinking she was SO OLD!! (anyone else?) but it is finally my time and it'll be new and challenging.

getting new things definitely makes the new year a bit more bearable. I got a huge faux leather bag from target to carry all my notebook and essentials in and I am very excited to try something different than a traditional backpack. I got some PaperMate colored felt pens and that are my absolute FAVORITE pen in the whole entire world and also some plain black ones. they write so well and I don't use anything else. I also got a white college ruled, 3 subject, notebook to take notes on the first day and use the rest of the year. Pencils are another essential and I just got some generic mechanical ones from Target. 

Inside my bag I will also keep my portable charger (obviously to not use in class), and a little bag filled with some more little things like: tissues, chapstick, Advil, lotion, gum, oil removing wipes, and rubber bands.
