seeing new places has always been intriguing to me. new people, new way of life, new normals, and (my favorite) new foods. this all plays a big part in my thrill to travel even if its only a few hours drive. so my boyfriend Jacob and I packed up the truck and went to LA for the day. at my high school our winter formal is called "Skaties" and it is a girls ask guys event. we all go out to dinner and then go ice skating. its actually not much of an actual formal but it's still fun.. so I had to come up with something creative to ask jacob right? so I pulled a few strings and ordered custom donuts spelling out "SKATIES?" at a little shop called California Donuts in LA and convinced him that a trip to LA would be fun. and it actually worked! he had no idea and we got such a fun trip out of it.

we went to Alfred Tea Room, DASH, Urth, Free People, and the Santa Monica Pier! Honestly one of my favorite parts had to have been eating at Urth. maybe I was just super hungry, but it was some the best food I had ever had. definitely wishing there was one closer to my house and already planning a trip to go back very soon!
