Halloween Party

for the last five years I have thrown together a little halloween get together with close friends and family, and it always involves pumpkin carving, good food, and wild costumes. Halloween in itself is not one of my most favorite holidays, but as a kid it was my favorite thing to go trick-or-treating with my cousins. after we had gone door to door we would spread out our piles of candy on the floor to trade and bargain with. and sadly now that it isn't completely socially acceptable for me to go door to door saying trick or treat, I make the occasion fun by making cute desserts and decorating with fun things. I made gummy skewers for appetizers, had jello brains as a side, and even had skeleton hands to toss the salad with. Its those little things and the time spent with loved ones that really makes a holiday a good one for me. Making festive foods, decorating with cutesy trinkets, and having my most favorite people around me can make me smile any day. And although its sad that halloween is over, I am so ready for the holiday festivities to begin.
