senior prom
when I went to my first homecoming 4 years ago, I don't think I had any idea how fast time would go by and I would be 18 and going to my last high school dance... literally I think I blinked and I was already finishing senior projects and thinking about college. Senior Prom really did come quickly, and I was so excited (having the best date EVER!) to get and create these last memories. we went and got our boutonnière and corsage picked out (bringing in a Pinterest picture for reference of course) and I had to take in every moment knowing it would be my last time. my last time picking out a fancy dress, finding heels that match, deciding how to do my hair, and where to take pictures beforehand. it was all so sentimental but relieving.
personally I do love getting dressed up and going to a fancy event every once and a while, but it can also be a stressful and almost anxious experience for me as well. I get caught up in trying to make every decision perfect and make everything fit together perfectly. but this time I told myself I wouldn't let that happen and I would go with the flow. and amazingly everything came together so amazing! I found my dress months early in the right size on just a regular shopping day, had some amazing people offer for us to take pictures with them at the Carlsbad Flower Fields, found shoes that were titled with my name and in my size, and had another friend willingly offer to do my makeup! things literally could not have happened more spontaneously, and although it didn't take away from the busy time of it all, I still remained calm and took in every possible moment to store away in my memory.
the night was full of amazing memories with some of my closest friends. we danced the night away, ate until we felt like exploding and had the best time. the night was unforgettable and I'm so excited for what is coming in the future.
