antiquing in the rain
one rainy Saturday, I took a break from the school books and headed off on an adventure. I almost never go into Escondido, but I heard of this cute antique place and coffee shop out there and decided to make a morning of it. I called jacob and we drove for a few miles to the coffee shop called Kettle Coffee & Tea. it was so thrilling to try a new place for once. I find myself often in a cycle of routine and tradition (which definitely has its perks) and it felt so good to break that and try something new. we got our vanilla lattes and a cinnamon roll and sat in high stools looking out the window into the rain. we listened to the raindrops and the conversations around us and just enjoyed each others' company.
then we drove two blocks down to the cutest antique store called Urban Barn. everywhere you turned there were little nick-nacks and pieces. I love looking at all the old frames, tables, and decor. taking old pieces and putting them in a new space is one of my favorite things to do. Urban Barn will for sure become one of my routine stops.
