Apple Picking // Kick off to Fall!
One of my biggest regrets last fall was 1) not having much time to just do fall things and 2) I missed out on the apple picking season. So this year I decided to make sure I got both of those things. I prioritized some major things in my life to make some time for this last year of high school to be as stressless and fun as possible, and I am proud of myself for being able to have the courage to say no to things and yes to others that will make me happier in the end. With that said, in August I started researching apple farms and the dates they would be open and which ones were the best. Last fall season in California we had a huge drought so there weren't that many apples to begin with, and then my life got super busy and I missed the season completely. So I got my mom and two sisters ready the second weekend the farms were open and we headed to Julian to finally pick some apples. We found a farm called Volcan Valley Apple Farm with rows and rows off apple trees. I wasn't very surprised to see a lot of people there and a lot of apples already picked, but we got in there with our bright big hats and started picking. It just gave me so much joy to be there with the people I love most taking in an activity I am now obsessed with. We finished with dozens of apples and headed home with pie-fillled bellies, apples in hand.
