when I went to my first homecoming 4 years ago, I don’t think I had any idea how fast time would go by and I would be 18 and going to my last high school dance… literally I think I blinked and I was already finishing senior projects and thinking about college. Senior Prom really did come quickly, and I was so excited (having the best date EVER!) to get and create these last memories.
we went and got our boutonnière and corsage picked out (bringing in a Pinterest picture for reference of course) and I had to take in every moment knowing it would be my last time. my last time picking out a fancy dress, finding heels that match, deciding how to do my hair, and where to take pictures beforehand. it was all so sentimental but relieving.
personally I do love getting dressed up and going to a fancy event every once and a while, but it can also be a stressful and almost anxious experience for me as well. I get caught up in trying to make every decision perfect and make everything fit together perfectly. but this time I told myself I wouldn’t let that happen and I would go with the flow. and amazingly everything came together so amazing! I found my dress months early in the right size on just a regular shopping day, had some amazing people offer for us to take pictures with them at the Carlsbad Flower Fields, found shoes that were titled with my name and in my size, and had another friend willingly offer to do my makeup! things literally could not have happened more spontaneously, and although it didn’t take away from the busy time of it all, I still remained calm and took in every possible moment to store away in my memory.
the night was full of amazing memories with some of my closest friends. we danced the night away, ate until we felt like exploding and had the best time. the night was unforgettable and I’m so excited for what is coming in the future.
check out the video I made from prom also on my youtube (Jacob + Kylie)!
on the first full day of my trip to big bear with jacob and his family, we went zip lining. some were 100 feet high and 800 feet long which was so crazy! we flew through the trees so fast and it was such a rush but such a fun memory.
on the second day we went to the first farmer’s market of the season! the ski slopes were closed for the first week of the year and there was barely any snow left on the ground. the market was full of different kinds of vendors like fruit, veggies, kettle corn, soaps, jewelry and so much more. we go toms little sprinkle sugar cookies, walked around, and had such a fun time looking at all the goodies and taking pictures!
also on the second day, we went bob sledding! we rode the chair lift up to the top and raced down to the bottom. we went so fast and it was such a fun, cheap thing to do!
on the last day of the trip, we went to castle rock to make the journey up to the top to see the most gorgeous view! there was some snow on the ground as we made our way up, along with pretty streams and trees. it was about a 2 mile hike that was not too hard even for me who doesn’t get out to hike much and definitely worth it for the sights we got to see.
we also videoed our whole trip on our youtube. so if you want to see more make sure to go over there and watch those.
